Community Service Letter
Recognizing Service, Leadership, and Community Impact
The Edina High School Community Service Letter recognizes students who demonstrate a sustained commitment to serving others and strengthening their communities through volunteerism. Through meaningful service experiences, students build leadership skills, develop empathy, and contribute to causes that make a positive impact both locally and beyond.
Open to those in grades 9-12, the program encourages students to pursue service opportunities aligned with their interests and values while reflecting on their personal growth.

Earn a Community Service Letter
Students interested in earning an Edina High School Community Service Letter must elect themselves to participate and complete all program requirements within one to two years. Students entering or currently enrolled in grades 9–12 are eligible to participate. Information about joining the program is shared with students each school year. An overview of the program process is provided below.

Apply
Submit an application and attend the required orientation to officially join the program. Applications and orientation are typically available mid-spring.

Serve
Complete at least 120 volunteer hours with qualifying organizations in 1-2 years, with 60 hours focused on a specific cause or area of service.

Reflect
Document volunteer hours through required logs and creative reflections, then present reflections during a friends and family showcase held in spring.

Celebrate
Students who complete all program requirements will be recognized at the Community Service Letter celebration held at the end of the school year.
The Student Experience
Our students volunteer in areas such as education, healthcare, youth programming, and community events, gaining a deeper understanding of their communities' needs and developing real-world skills that prepare them for success beyond high school.
